KWANTU ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

The Kwantu Elephant Sanctuary is nestled adjacent to the N2 on the way to Grahamstown only one hour from Port Elizabeth. It is surrounded by natural indigenous bush and is home to impala, bushbuck, blesbuck, blue wildebeest, springbuck, kudu, baboons, porcupine, caracal, leopard and a host of other small mammals and over 200 bird species.

The sanctuary is home to five magnificent African Elephants. Here you can touch, hear, smell and experience one of Africa’s most magestic creatures. Watch these gentle giants move their majestic bodies. Feel their tranquil energy as you touch their skin. Hear the triumphant calls.

Get a taste for the wild. All of this as you inhale the fresh scent of mother nature. Experience our educational show which will include and educational talk and allows visitors to touch and feed the elephants and may incorporate a short ride.
